Facing February Luncheon

In February, we talked about how to "face" those pesky daily challenges and obstacles head on!

Joan was the athlete of the day!

Enjoying the fellowship before the luncheon!

Can you spot some friendly faces?

Judy Heaney and Bonnie Weber from the Ag Silvers, a local senior women's competitive 3-on-3 basketball team, join us to share how they "faced" their competition!

The goals of basketball team are: to encourage fun and fellowship with other women in our age group, to promote good health and fitness habits through regular exercise, and to compete and qualify in the local, state and national Senior Games and other invitational tournaments held each year. Click HERE to visit the Ag Silver's website.

A sports themed centerpiece decorated each table.
Our wonderful speaker Dorothy Stall is pictured to the right of Judy Bell and Margaret Johnson.
As a successful entrepreneur in multiple business ventures, Dorothy shared how she once had the attitude of "I can do it myself!." After a major obstacle brought her business to a halt, she quickly realized she could no longer "do it herself." Dorothy found the Lord and began relying on His strength to overcome daily challenges.

Join us next month for a very special "Spring Bling!"

Unlocking Your Future

The theme of January's luncheon was Unlocking Your Future. The day was full of great fellowship, wonderful music, and inspiring words from our speaker!

Becky Oyler, our Bible Study coordinator, was joined by her life long friend.
Our wonderful chair, Judy Bell, was unable to be with us this month so Margaret Johnson chaired the luncheon and did a fabulous job!

Speaker, Nancy Briggs, shared stories of how she was made new again in her "Search for Significance." She found God while she was searching for truth. She told stories of how the Lord has always provided for every need. Nancy is pictured with Carly Whitmer.

It was a joy to hear pianist Sherry Woodruff play beautiful hymns on the piano! Sherry is pictured here with Jeanne Beckman.

Here is a surprise for those who were unable to make it to the luncheon. A sneak peak of Sherry's wonderful skills!

We look forward to seeing you in February when we will have special guests Ag Silvers and speaker Dorothy Stall, a successful entrepreneur that will share how she discovered that she couldn’t always “do it herself.”

Holiday Happiness

Tis the Season for
HOLIDAY HAPPINESS!

December's luncheon was filled with holiday joy and festivities! The Pebble Creek Country Club was full of beautiful Christmas decorations.

Mary Sue and Pat are wonderful greeters with beautiful smiles.

SOS Ministries gave the Christian Women's Connection an opportunity to give Christmas gifts to the 65 girls in the ministry. Women from the CWC drew the name of a teenage girl and went shopping! Carmen Sifuentz attended the luncheon and received all the gifts to deliver to the teenagers. The girls will unwrap the gifts on Thursday night December the 16th!
Local entertainer, Mark Taylor performed beautiful Christmas songs on the piano including White Christmas and Oh Holy Night. The ladies joined him to sing Silent Night and Jingle Bells!

Pebble Creek served a variety of salads, a vegetable medley, salmon, chicken breast, and dinner rolls.
Dessert deserved it's own picture. Triple layered chocolate cake!
The fellowship between the women of Christian Women's Connection is one of the best parts of the luncheon!

Speaker for the luncheon, Sharon Braner from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, was joined by her friend of over 20 years, Deanne Beck from the Woodlands.
Sharon's talk "What is your Life's Song" was quite entertaining as recalled titles of songs from the past and songs of the present. She described times in her life when her "song" was Hee-Haw's "Gloom Despair and Agony On Me..." The lyrics of her song changed when she developed a relationship with Christ that filled her with peace, contentment, and happiness!

November's Roadtip at Hilltop Lakes

The Bryan/College Station Christian Women's Connection took a ROAD TRIP to Hilltop Lakes for November's luncheon! We have a great group of ladies from Hilltop Lakes faithfully join us at Pebble Creek Country Club, our normal luncheon location in College Station, so we decided to go visit them at their beautiful small community which they like to call Heaven.

Vehicles were the theme of the luncheon and this cool ride was parked out front with a sign showing us which way to enter.
The ladies of Hilltop Lakes decorated the beautiful lodge with fall decorations to get us all in a Thanksgiving mood.

As always, we enjoy good visits and fellowship before the luncheon begins! Of course, we're women!
Chicken breast, steamed vegetables, a side salad, and dinner rolls were served for lunch. Dessert was a slice of shortcake with blackberry toppings. The lodge at Hilltops sure knows how to treat us well!

Our feature was Ms. Texas Senior Sarah Senter of Red Oak Texas. Sarah spoke of her journeys and adventures while she wore the crown in 2009!

Our speaker, Donna Bogema of Danbury, was accompanied by her fried Mary Jean Adams. Donna brought a wonderful message and reminded us of the importance of the choices we make everyday. Donna owns a house in Hilltops and visits as frequently as she is able with her family.

See you next month for a very Merry Christmas Luncheon!
